Diabetes
For diabetics, we have implemented 5-field digital imaging, and we take multiple digital images of the retina (the nerve layer inner lining of the back of the eye). Those images can then be reconstructed to form a view of the entire retina at one glance. They can be further manipulated by removing red, blue or green light spectrums to better differentiate potential problem areas. This method gives us the ability to pick up evidence of diabetic retinal complications at much earlier stages than conventional methods.
